THE FUTURE OF CONSTRUCTION SKILLS

THE FUTURE OF CONSTRUCTION SKILLS THE FUTURE OF CONSTRUCTION SKILLS THE FUTURE OF CONSTRUCTION SKILLS THE FUTURE OF CONSTRUCTION SKILLS

Career Journeys

The SECTEC will work to support progression through immersive promotion and clearer, flexible pathways developed with industry and aligned to sector specialisms and workforce needs.

Currently, the SECTEC is seeking to capture and promote the type of career journeys young people could expect to take within the construction sector.

The Construction Careers Map is being developed to provide an interactive digital platform through which people can look at the real-life career journeys that people in the sector have taken and what qualifications and training they have done to underpin it.

This will be a free interactive tool that will not only help to inform people about careers in the industry but also help to understand the more common routes taken to progress within the sector.

The SECTEC is also undertaking some small scale ‘test and learn’ activities that have been co-designed with construction employers to create immersive experiences for young school age people and school teachers, aimed at sustained engagement, leading to positive outcomes.
